Copper Fire by Suzanne Woods Fisher: A Review
"On a summer day in 1945, Louisa Gordon receives a telegram from the International Red Cross Tracing Service. Her young cousin, Elisabeth, has just been released from Dachau, a concentration camp, and Louisa is her only remaining lifeline."

I was given the wonderful opportunity to receive this follow up to Copper Star and review it here on my site. Right off the bat, the back cover drew me in promising an entertaining read. Copper Fire meets back up with Louisa Gordon, her husband Robert, son William, and Aunt Martha. The Gordon family brings you right into the pages with their daily antics. You can relate to their family unit and see a bit of yourself in each character.
The main plot of this story is Louisa going back to her native Germany to pick up her cousin Elisabeth who now has no other family left. As the story grows, you struggle with the Gordons in trying to help Elisabeth become accustomed to not only a new country but a new home, family, customs, and what love truly is.
Woven in is a true detective story of Louisa's attempts to find the man responsible for so many hurts and inflicted pain upon not only the Gordon family but their town Copper Springs as well. Never once backing down from a fight, Suzanne Woods Fisher shows a true strength in her main heroine that will speak to each and every one of us.
Twists and turns along the way abound through this novel and will keep you turning page after page without wanting to put it down.
What spoke to me personally was the strength of this little family and how they banded together against the criticizing town folk, the war that tore them apart, and the world in general. Nothing got these folks down and they always stood by each other in thick or thin. You will find yourself laughing with the Gordons and crying with them as well.
Copper Fire is a great, easy read that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. I highly suggest reading Copper Star first if possible because I think it would be great to have all of the background on these wonderful characters. I definitely will be getting my own copy of Suzanne Woods Fisher's first novel in this series to see everything I missed!

I'm looking forward to reading this. I've enjoyed getting to know Suzanne through her blog. She's a doll.
I loved this book. I only wish I had read the first book before this one.
